Amanda Inglis is a self-taught oil painter whose journey is proof that big blooms can grow from tiny seeds of curiosity. Just a year after picking up a paintbrush for the first time, she earned a spot as an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists. This rapid rise was fueled by passion, determination, and maybe a few colorful mishaps along the way.
Raised on a farm near the shore of Lake Erie, Amanda’s insatiable curiosity for the creative arts was nurtured from a young age. She later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Studies from York University, but it was the loss of her father in 2008 that led her back to her rural roots. It was there that she found solace in studying botany, developing a deep appreciation for the life cycle of flowers.
Amanda’s work reflects this connection to nature, using oil on canvas to depict flowers in anatomical detail. Her artwork celebrates the symbiotic relationship between resilience and vulnerability, honoring the beauty found in both. She weaves themes of growth, joy, and the wild beauty of life into each piece, inviting viewers to embrace life’s chaos and plant seeds of creativity.
Amanda’s debut collection, which includes the award-winning piece Timeless Trinity, was recognized at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, Ontario.
Much like a thriving garden, her artistic career has been a labor of love, patience, and a little dirt under the nails. Amanda invites you to explore her portfolio and discover the fruits (or flowers) of her labor. Stay connected—because just like in a garden, the best surprises are always in bloom!
